Tech Mahindra and Motorola Bring Content to the Consumer through
Joint Venture
CanvasM to deliver
innovative application solutions for global network providers
and enterprises
New Delhi, India and
Rosemont, IL – 25 July 2006 - Tech Mahindra, a leading
provider of IT services and telecom solutions, and Motorola,
Inc. [NYSE: MOT], a global leader in wireless communications,
today announced a joint venture to develop and deliver innovative
application solutions. The joint venture company, called CanvasM,
will enable network service providers and enterprises to launch
and manage the deployment of applications that will help increase
their differentiation, shorten time to revenue, and reduce
total cost of ownership.
CanvasM will implement end-user applications and content services,
consistent service creation, and a delivery and management
framework utilizing Motorola’s Global Applications Management
Architecture (GAMA). CanvasM will deliver customized applications
through a dedicated staff that specializes in addressing the
varying needs of customers. The portfolio includes messaging,
location-based services, entertainment, e-commerce and enterprise
productivity applications.
Tech Mahindra will bring
the joint venture its experience in applications development
and integration capabilities. Motorola contributes its applications
portfolio, applications and service delivery platform, and
mobile technology expertise. Together, the companies make
CanvasM the vehicle for delivering an evolving portfolio of
content-based services.

CanvasM will be headquartered
in Noida, India. Two research and development centers of excellence
will be located in Noida and Bangalore, India. The centers
of excellence are state-of-the-art facilities that showcase
proof-of-concepts and support the entire applications lifecycle
from conception to mass deployment. CanvasM benefits from
the expertise in India, while utilizing the existing global
go-to-market channels from Motorola and Tech Mahindra.
